The four best placards at last week’s anti-Daily Mail protest

Last week, as part of a national protest against benefits cuts, a demonstration was held outside the offices of the Daily Mail to express outrage at the newspaper’s demonisation of the disabled. Here are the four best placards I saw protruding from the swarm of mainly bemused-looking protesters.

This rebel wrote her placard on the train. Please tell me she wrote it on the train.

This person appears to be muddled and thinks the purpose of their daytrip to town was to gloat about their coverage in a national newspaper and poke fun at people who haven’t been vilified by the Mail.

Now this is my kind of smear campaign.

Again, another person who appears to have missed the memo on the purpose of the demo – but what’s not to love about this placard? There’s so much to admire here – the grid to aid with the scale of the drawing, the Tippex – but my favourite detail is the addition of the glasses to Tomlinson to make him more placid and less threatening.
